The other thing is that although the denial of meat eating is covered in vegetarian
food, yet denial of wine drinking is not covered by it. Drinking of wine is also
such a bad thing that not only it results in the death of innumerable Jivas but
being intoxicating, it destroys the power of discrimination, creates delusion in
wisdom, harms health and brings an end to family happiness and tranquillity.
Therefore, negation of wine drinking along with meat eating is also necessary.
In modern world, many intoxicants too, like wine for creating delusion in mind and
destroying health and wealth, have become prevalent. It is very necessary to save
the community from their contact also.
In Jain-conduct, wine drinking is also forbidden along with meat eating; due to
this reason also the word Jain-conduct is added with vegetarian food.
